Notification channels at a glance
ParkShare keeps people informed through three channels: email for everyone, optional SMS for members who opt in, and an optional webhook that posts allocation summaries into Slack or Microsoft Teams. SMS is covered in its own section of the help centre; this article covers email and webhooks.
Email notifications
Emails are sent from noreply@parkshare.work. Members receive email for:
- Magic-link sign-in messages, so members can sign in without a password.
- Invitations to join the organisation.
- The weekly allocation summary, including when the run happens automatically.
- Decisions on park requests: approved or declined.
Ask members to whitelist the sender
If a member reports missing emails, ask them to check their spam folder and add noreply@parkshare.work to their safe senders.
Email is always on and needs no configuration. It is also the safety net for SMS: when an organisation's monthly SMS allowance is exhausted, the notifications that would have been texts are delivered by email instead until the next month begins.
Slack and Microsoft Teams webhooks
Your organisation can connect a single webhook so that weekly allocation summaries are posted into a Slack or Microsoft Teams channel everyone can see, such as a general or facilities channel.
- 1In Slack or Microsoft Teams, create an incoming webhook for the channel you want summaries posted to, and copy the webhook URL.
- 2Go to Admin, then Settings, and find the integrations area.
- 3Paste the webhook URL and choose the type: Slack or Teams.
- 4Use the test button to send a test message and confirm it appears in the channel.
What the webhook receives
Webhooks receive allocation summaries only, such as which days and bays were allocated in the weekly run. No personal data is sent: no member names, mobile numbers, leave records or request details.
The webhook is configured at the organisation level, so one URL covers the whole organisation. If the webhook is removed or the URL stops working, summaries stop appearing in the channel but email and SMS notifications are unaffected.
How the channels fit together
| Event | SMS | Webhook | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly allocation summary | Every member | Members who opted in | Allocation summary posted to the channel |
| Park request decision | The requesting member | Members who opted in | Not sent |
| Sign-in and invites | Yes | Not sent | Not sent |
| Monthly SMS allowance exhausted | Everything continues by email | Pauses until next month | Not affected |
